Why this name?
My mother and father made that decision.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I come from the pre-Internet days when artists tried to get major label deals. Without it, distribution was extremely difficult. Computer recording software was in its infancy, so it was necessary to pay for recording studios--very expensive. With online distribution and mp3 downloading, and the availability of high quality, reasonably priced home recording software the whole major label dominated paradigm has radically changed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Might be, given the right circumstances (retain artistic and publishing control).
