Colin's vocal style has been compared to a variety of artists, the favorites being Neil Finn of Crowded House, John Lennon and even Bob Dylan.
Band History:
Colin has been writing songs since he was eighteen, and must have now passed the three hundred mark. He has gigged all over the U.K. and talented pop song writing ability is his forte. Amazing clarity and crispness always makes a difference - couple this with hooky pop songs and quality musicianship and there's no looking back. Colin has played with a number of bands ("Salt Of The Earth", "Inside Information", "Rose of Sharon", "The Word" and "Thru The Roof" to name just a few). Salt of the Earth, his most recent project, performed up and down the U.K. for ten years. The venues have ranged from the Rock Garden at London's Covent Garden, to Band on the Wall at Manchester. From festivals at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral to Cheltenham Racecourse. Future Publishing's national 'Band' magazine, launched a competition to find 'the best unsigned band in Britain'. 'Salt of the Earth' beat more than a thousand other bands at the grand final at Wembley to take the title of ' best unsigned band in Britain '. Band magazine wrote ' Of course, in the immortal words of Sean Connery, there can be only one. It was never going to be easy with four so excellent and stylistically different bands, but Salt of the Earth took the honours for "pure songwriting sparkle". Congratulations to ' the Salts ', who took home a gold microphpone as well as £2000.00 worth of equipment and studio time.' Colin has just finished his first solo album called "Afraid of the Silence", which is now available. Steve Conway, one of Lancashire's premier guitarist's features with Colin on the album, and between the two of them they performed all instruments and completed in just under twelve months.
