I am a native American Flute player who brings his music from his Native roots, both Cherokee and Choctaw. I create my music from what I feel and see in life around me. I also reflect stories I learn, and stories of real people. I myself play the flutes, native drums, and create digital music for the songs. You will also here me speak in cherokee, and present chants from me and other Native American people.
Catherine Eveleth will be doing guitar work for me on several projects. She also reaches into her Native roots to create music from the heart. Together our spirits fly.

Why this name?
Currently my name is used for the band. However we are also Known as Sacred Flute. A flute isn't a sacred item. However the name reflects a very old flute passed down to me that is very sacred in my life and spirit.
Do you play live?
Yes. I am available to play live in the NJ/NYC/PA/ areas. I am also available to instruct flute music, and do fund raisers. I will also play with Jeff Ball and help him with his events.
Jeff Ball is an amazing artist himself, and I will continue to support him and his music.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We are moving into a more technological future. CD's are great to buy at the stores, but who really wants to travel to pick up te latest music? Why not buy it online, download it, and get to hear it right away? It is a good thing as long as individuals do not steal the music artist work hard on. I produce the music from my heart, and wouldn't want my heart broken.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I am currently interested in working with Silver Wave Records, Red Feather, and Canyon records, who produce Native American based music. They seem to support their artists, and are different from many other mainstream labels.
Band History:
I was once lost in my life. Always feeling as part of me and my heritage was lost or unknown. Yes many of us learn that Grandfather and Grandmother were Indian. Or our great grandfathers and grandmothers. Some off us seem to have a pull towards nature and the rhythm of the drum, a desire to feel one with the natural world around us.
We only have to learn to stop and listen to the elders and story tellers to regain the past. Even today on some reservations, culture seems to be slipping away from the youths do to modern mainstream America. Many with native blood live a life of a robotic society, an loose the spirit of the land. We need to hear the voices of the ancestors of the land, and let them guide us back to our spirit. Center yourself with the life, and you will find balance within.
I have always felt energy when playing the flutes. I start with a traditional thanks to the land and our creator. The flute is an expression of love, to the earth our mother, the creator, the winged ones, the four legged, and all in this world. When this is done, the music comes more natural. My music is a reflection of me, and other things in my life. Many who enjoy my music often tell me they can relate to it, since it often reflects them as well.
I have returned to music and will bring a variety of music from POP/Rock, Dance, and traditional flute music for a wide variety of listeners.

Your influences?
Great flute players and native artists such as Robert Mirabal, Douglas Spotted Eagle, Carlos Nakai, and many others.
The artist have the greatest reserve in my soul for is Jeff Ball. I can relate to his music very well, and our tastes are the same. I plan to perform with him and help him out in the future.

Favorite spot?
All of mother earth is my favorite spot. I do love the scenic views of Arizona where I was born, and the mountains of colorado, NY state and Utah.
Equipment used:
I use a custom software on my recording system. This allwos me to over lay my tracks, create effects, and the sound I am looking for. On my Native Dance tracks, I blend real music, chants and instruments with techno/dance jams.
Anything else...?
My purpose is to bring native american instruments and artists into the pop/rock top lists. We have alot to offer, and do it from our hearts.
I am a member of the INAFA, International Native American Flute Association. We support each other in our music missions and preservation of the flutes.
