play lo-fi play hi-fi  The Sound Of Freedom (The Helmsmen)
The goal is to glorify God through the music He's inspired me to make. Most of my songs are those of conviction to Christians, or those posing as such. Like a good preacher, I am most critical of myself before I share the message with the audience.
Why this name?
I was born with it.
Do you play live?
Yes, I do. Mostly with the southern gospel trio, The Helmsmen (www.thenewhelmsmen.com), sometimes solo if asked.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music gets out there faster and you can also preview before buying. That's a plus when sometimes a whole album only has one decent song on it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would.
Band History:
None yet.
Your influences?
Lyrically, Peter Furler and Phil Vassar, musically, Phil Vassar, Hootie and the Blowfish, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Blackhawk, Newsboys.
Favorite spot?
Nashville
Equipment used:
Cubase 5, Alvarez acoustic with a 3 way pickup system, Presonus preamp and firepod, lots of other recording goodies.
Anything else...?
My goal is to glorify God in song. It is through experience and the Holy Spirit's influence that I have come to write these down. I'm just the "lucky guy" that gets the credit for the wonderful things God has given me to put to paper.
