Ascension is a moniker of Chris Hickman . The sound is primarily jazz,soul and electronic sample based beats w/ hiphop sensibilities. Upcoming projects include the debut LP w/ emcee, Asylum7 slated for Spring 2005 & A instrumental album titled "Momentum" which should be finished June 2005
Why this name?
Ascension..came from the title of one of my favorite Coltrane records. I happened to be inspired by his approach on that album..of course my music is entirely different..but the name means something positive in the sense of being above and beyond.
