Mindshaker is a hard rock band from Seattle, Washington.
Why this name?
We were learning some Mother Love Bone songs and also trying to think of names for a metal band and I just looked down at the CD and read "MINDSHAKER MELTDOWN" and it was like, "how 'bout MINDSHAKER?"
Do you play live?
We play mostly in the Seattle, WA. area, including areas around Tacoma, Everett, and Portland, OR and have played the whisky a go go in LA.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Garageband was a huge market for our band to get heard all around the world. When it went otffline, it was a sad day for our band, and I started looking immediately for more outlets to get my band out there...so far, I haven't found any thing that compares
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
maybe
Band History:
MINDSHAKER was borne from a recording project between Ben (Killer B.) and Rich T. (R.T.) in January 2001. Songs like Ground Zero and Better Days were created during the initial recording sessions. During the early sessions Rich played electronic drums and wrote and recorded many of the bass tracks, while Ben focused on the guitar rhythms and leads. Rich ultimately became the band's most influential song-writer, lyricist, and producer. MINDSHAKER continues to play several of the ground-breaking tracks created by Ben and Rich during the birth of the band.
After the band's first songs were written, Ben was motivated to create the guitar rock band now known as MINDSHAKER. He recruited bass player M.J. first. M.J.'s mental focus and playful persona have turned her into one kick-ass bassist. Members include Pat Connell, Charlie Tillman, Rich T., Killer B. (Axe Man) , Melinda Jensen, Clint Huls, Mark Alexander, and Big Sweatty.
MINDSHAKER has played roughly 100 shows in different venues all along the west coast..
distributed nearly 1000 copies of the demo cd... earned "track of the day" and many other awards on GarageBand.com .. Received radio airplay in several different college markets, MINDSHAKER opened twice for Quiet Riot, opened for the Dead Kennedys, and had spots at both the Abrasive Rock Fest II and Unleash the Freaks tours. In June 2002 MINDSHAKER performed at the famous Whisky- A-GoGo at CrueFest II.
Locally MINDSHAKER has sold out shows at The Central Tavern, Tommy’s Nightclub, and played Graceland and others.
