CBJ Music is an Unincorporated duo of musicians who enjoy making fun music for our friends and whoever else wants to listen. We are without genre or definition. www.cbjmusic.cjb.net
Why this name?
The duo behind CBJ Music is Chuck B and Joseph. Put those initials together and you get the picture.
Do you play live?
We just make fun songs on the computer. We have no plans to take this stuff live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier for musicians to distribute their music and meet people who enjoy their stuff.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nah, this is just a fun project that beats concentrating fully on college.
Band History:
Chuck B and Joseph met during freshman orientation for college in the summer of 2002. They became fast friends when the fall semester started. In the summer of 2003, Charles bought a few music programs to play around with. That fall, CBJ Music was born as two students learned how to mess around with computer programs to generate music.
Your influences?
Chuck B is a genuine sampler of musical genres. He is big into indie hip-hop right now though is known to rotate rock just as often. He flirts with all sorts of genres, from electronic to death metal to hardcore punk. His favorite hip-hop artist right now is Atmosphere and Bleach is his favorite rock group. Joseph rotates a fresh variety of rock and metal, and is known to pop in classical music every once in awhile. Joseph enjoys most anything but specializes in rock groups. He equally appreciates rough and melodic music. Like Chuck B, he is also known to dabble in electronic music. He is a big fan of A Perfect Circle and Tool.
Favorite spot?
Chuck B holds a special place in his heart for downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Joseph loves his hometown Naples, Italy.
Equipment used:
We use two computers and a program called MAGIX Music Maker 7.
