Kelton Ree was formed as a web music project as an outlet for original songs composed using JamStudio and other software. The songs are available by license to performing artists
Why this name?
Just made it up. Wanted something original that popped up at the top of search engines.
Do you play live?
No. This is a songwriting venture only. If performing artists are interested in any of the songs, they are available.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes music universally available and forever changes the model for talented individuals to surface from obscurity.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Considering the nature of this project, it's doubtful that could ever happen.
Band History:
Formed 2010 with DW writing the songs with contributions from Don and Monk. Still looking for a female vocalist to sing lead and background on a number of the songs.
Your influences?
All over the place- from Frank Sinatra to Elvis to Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, the Byrds, Tom Petty, Pat Metheny, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, ColdPlay, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine, and many, many more from all eras.
Favorite spot?
Pittsburgh PA- home to the mystical three rivers confluence and some of the friendliest people on the planet.
