Strike Twelve stands out as a ray of sunshine against a new world of depressed, emo bands. They started out to have fun and that's what they've been doing for the last 3 years. Now we've got an arsenal of roughly 25 songs and a couple well-chosen covers. When Strike Twelve (previously known to many as "Better Than Nothing") takes the stage, everyone's mood instantly lightens as their ears are filled with the warm sounds of their lively action-packed songs. Coming from the Temecula area, this band prides itself on its distinctive style and positive energy. A friend and member of another band heard them and commented: "i am madly in love with the non emoness your band posseses." They have played at Soma, the Epicentre, the Showcase Theatre, Cane's Bar & Grill, the Wheelhouse, and many more venues. Check out their songs and come see them live.

Why this name?
We had the name Better Than Nothing for a long time and we finally realized that it was lame and lacked a meaning that we liked. In bowling, 12 strikes is a perfect game. Since Matt and Joe were in a bowling league together, we thought it was cool. Furthermore, in Cinderella, when the clocks STRIKE TWELVE, she loses her fancy carriage and other disguises and she is seen for what she really is. We try our hardest in all aspects of life and we do so while being ourselves, so we instantly fell in love with the name.
Do you play live?
Of course we do. It's what we live for. One moment that stays with us was during the Pizza Song at the Temecula CRC when a guy in the crowd came up on stage and started humping Joe. It was funny. It's also a great feeling when people sing along and get into it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives us the potential to be heard and we like it. It also allows us to hear other people and discover new bands to listen to.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Fine with us, if they don't butcher our music.
Band History:
The band began in early 2001 when guitarists Anthony Pedroza and Matt Turek approached Joe Treister and asked him to play bass with them. The chemistry was undeniable and they began their search for a drummer. This search ended when they were introduced to a friend of a friend, Matt Bollinger. Eventually other commitments made it too difficult for Anthony to devote enough time to the band and he had to move on. Matt T and Joe stayed together and soon teamed up with their friend Dan Bahou after Matt B quit. And that brings us to today...
