Leaving Town Blues

Mindscape - Matt Thorpe
Matt has an overiding passion for the Blues although some of his music reflects other interests in rock, jazz and fusion. The music is mainly instrumental. Matt is known for his emotive guitar soloing which ranges from a cry to a growl! Based in the UK he markets his music via the internet as an independdent artist. Unsolicited Review by: Hungry Row Music Matt Thorpe is what we refer to in the business as a "Phenom". And he certainly earns that expression. If you've been looking around for clean & fresh with a bite guitar based music, you've surely hit the spot. With his strongly polished rock anthem's ,funkier than funk struts and almost liquefied blues licks he is the real deal. His music was first introduced to the internet back in 1999. And from that day on he continues to astound and mesmerize the world with songs such as "Shuffle In The Nineties" a blues with a heart beat and cool melody, "Low And Then Some" with it's extraordinary bounce progression and feeling , "Blues Don't Leave Me Tonight" has the gutty Les Paul blues tone we all want to hear from a guitar player and "Just Gotta Boogie" which shows he can draw a Royal Flush and slam it down on the table. While there is a the slightest detectable influence from the likes of greats such as Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Gary Moore, Clapton, Walter Trout and other master string benders as well, Matt brings much more to the table for the listener to digest that comes directly from his own passionate style. But no words we say here could ever truly do him and his music justice. That can only be accomplished by listening and savoring this man's golden treasures yourself. So treat yourself to something astounding and listen to all of his music. You'll be convinced as were we. We suggest you contact him and buy one of his many great CD's. Not only is he one of the most talented men to ever hold a guitar in his hands but he also records, mixes and masters all of his work at his studio in Manchester, England. Hungry Row Music
Band/artist history
Matt has been playing Guitar for some 40 years. The road has been a long one with too many bands to mention here. In recent times he has been marketing his music via the internet mainly through Mp3.com where he has released 8 studio albums and sold several thousand CD's.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
During a recent visit to Nashville to record with the Mp3 Blues Allstars Matt jammed with the house band at the famous Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar and went down a storm!! I was humbled to find out afterwards that some of the biggest names in blues had trodden those same boards!!
