Why this name?
Well I got my name because I'm a battle emcee and I'm just Ruthless with it...I show no mercy, and my alias Wise is the meaning of my real name Hugh
Do you play live?
I did a couple of shows, and lil school talent shows. One special moment was when I was performing with my boy Six and I was doing my verse and the crowd got so loud that I forgot what I was saying. I was literally saying blah blah blah and when the crowd settled down I remembered my verse again and nobody knew dat I messed up not even my boy Six...yeah Complex crowd gets real loud....BIG UP COMPLEX MASSIVE!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Alotta ppl get free music...which is good for advertisments, but bad for record sales.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah I would...I really would love to, but after I get my foot in the door I'll own my own label because I love being behind the scenes and helping other artists to know as much as I know.
Band History:
I was born on St.Croix,US Virgin Islands. Started rapping at the age of 14, and been deep in it eversince.I have just started recording as a solo artist recently, I am in a group called V.I.P. (Virgin Island Poetz) along side my bandmates Ripstah, B-Z, and Lively. I am also in a group called Da Topp Dawgz..which is a collaboration of V.I.P. and 3 kings which includes Ancient One, Phenom, and Smooth.
Your influences?
Well I got alot of influences but I gotta say my older brother, he use to do reggae and I just decided to pick up a mic and tried to be like him. Honestly if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be rapping. Other influcences are Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, D12, Nas, Eminem, Proof, Outkast, Bone Thugs -n- Harmony,Obie Trice, Jay-Z, Biggie, 2Pac, Nappy Roots, Joe Budden, Kardinal Offishall, The Clipse, Foxy Brown, and ofcourse my group V.I.P. (wad up fam)
