Based in Toronto, 'the silk demise' combines the elements of trip-hop and dark ambience to create a sound that is both dark and soothing. Incessant bass, throbbing beats, and the incredible vocal talents of Olivia Zielinski (along with collaborations with Edie Marshall, and Anna Ivanova) comprise 'the silk demise'.

Why this name?
Used to be called "self Delusion" when it was purely a solo effort, but eventually changed the band name since different people started to collaborate. I really wanted something unique, so that if it would be searched, there would be no mistaking the band name for something else.
Do you play live?
No, and unfortunately, this is not in the mix right now. All the tracks are recorded in a makeshift home studio. Plus, Bill is in Toronto, Edie is in California, and Olivia in Montreal... we're all over the place.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It can help the indie artist to large extent, allowing a reach to fans that woud otherwise be impossible to get. Especially now, with podcasts and music hosting sites - you can reach a large audience quickly, and establish a fanbase.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure?
Band History:
Started in 2002 with Edie Marshall, but she was working in Beauty's Confusion. Met Olivia in Toronto and released our self-titled debut in 2004. Touched based with Edie over the years and eventually we put together the new album, Midnight Eyes, in mid-2009... That's the really short version of the history.
