When We Rock w/ TrikkStar
Fluent is a Hip Hop Artist from Christchurch, New Zealand. He has enjoyed great success over the past 8 years he has been creating music. In 2004 & 206, Fluent was crowned the Canterbury & South Island Human Beatbox Champion and also in 2006 traveled to Auckland, New Zealand to compete in the New Zealand Human Beatbox Championships were he placed an impressive 3rd place. Over the past 8 years, he has established a reputation for being a Rugged/Energetic, but Smooth/Soulful presence on a track, which has become a recipe for success. With aspirations of making music as a full-time, he is an Emcee to watch for in the near future.
Why this name?
I was having a beatbox with one of my old school mates and he said "your sounds and effects are really fluent", it just grew from there
Do you play live?
Yes i play live, Ive played all over the place. Most special moment was performing at the Westpac Trust Stadium for the Mobb Deep-Blood Money Tour. Mobb Deep was the group that got me into Hip Hop and it was an honour to finally meet them along with couple of other members of G-Unit- Alchemist & 40 Glocc.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has giving artists in small countries around the world, the chance to be heard by big time companies. Before the internet was around, you could really only get signed if you lived in a major global city, were as now, people like myself in a little country on the other-side of the world, have the chance to be heard by executives in New York or L.A. I believe it has changed the music industry for the better
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes of course I would, like I said above, I want to be making music full-time and making BIG money off it and you can only go so far with selling mixtapes, especially when you live in such a small city that doesnt approve of Hip Hop, like I do.

2005 Playbak Productions released "Ooo Wee Mixtape Vol. 1".
