Purpose Effect (short: PFX ) is a 4-piece band from Berlin, Germany. Equally incorporating progressive metal, drum&bass and pop/r&b influences into a unique, dense sound. Played by highly skilled musician, backed by a powerful contemporary producton. Ready to plug-in and play live anywhere, anytime. DEBUT EP out now!!!
Why this name?
The band´s name comes from the first track of our first EP. That track is called "The Purpose Effect".
Do you play live?
We play live anyway, anytime, with any band - if the conditions are acceptable. Book us via booking-purposefx@gmx.net !
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No if we would have to surrender the rights and control over our music. Artistic freedom is our top priority.
Band History:
Purpose Effect was founded in the spring of 2007 by producer/vocalist Ole "Scabar" Kupfer, multi-instrumentalist/producer Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger and drummer Björn Schellinger.
After two years of rehearsing and songwriting PFX recorded their debut 4-song EP as a trio, augmented by session bass-players Guido Nerger and Jacob Schmidt. In the summer of 2009 Peter Geltat joined the line-up as second guitar player.
The band is now looking for a professional booking-agency, management and/or label. A full-length album has been scheduled for 2011.
