305 Records based in Buffalo, NY is a subsidiary of Cypher Productions from Brooklyn, NY. It is owned by the man they call Boobie Smiff. Boobie Smiff a.k.a. Cypher, is from the streets of Brooklyn, NY and has brought his talent and passion for music to Buffalo State College where he now attends.
305 Records consists of basically Buffalo State College students who have found a kinship with Mr. Smiff and have had the oppportunity to records songs ranging from parodies to lyrically expresive songs. 305 Records is bringing a new flavor to Buffalo and hopefully to the rest of New York.

Why this name?
305 Records was founded by the executive producer/rapper/CEO Boobie Smiff and rapper Willie Beamen. The room where the music all goes don in is inthe infamous room of 305 in Buffalo State College. So, instead of Mr. Smiff using his already created label name of Cypher Productions he chose to create a subsidiary as we are bringing new flavor so shall the name be.
Do you play live?
We perform at numerous open mics in the downtown Buffalo area and hope to bring that energy to New York City.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows people whowould not usually listen to your music get a chance to listen to it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, we would but we would lso like to keep working on creating our own independent label, Cypher Productions.
