Hey, I'm Sam D. Hyde. I record music in my free time, and I'm trying to start something out of it. Please go like my Facebook page for updates and songs, I'm not sure I'll post them all here, I'm not on soundclick that often.
Why this name?
Kinda complicated. Sam is a nickname I've been using for quite a long time, can't really explain why I chose it. Hyde was supposed at first to embody everything's that's hidden in the dark corners of my mind (ever heard of Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde? Yeah I know, easy one). And D. ... well, watch One Piece, you'll know :3
Do you play live?
I play live with my two bands (Oceans for backyard and Wind's last blow) and I LOVE it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it makes it quite easily for everyone to get recognition for what they're doing at an international level. It allows underground artits which are awesome to finaly get the attention they deserve.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Why not.
Band History:
I've started playing guitar in 2005, and bought some cheap recording gear a few months after. I've always prefered composing my own stuff instead of covering songs, it's way more interesting! I recently bought an Axefx ultra, and damn that stuff is crazy!
Your influences?
Love any kind of music, but I mainly listen to metal. Hardcore (like comeback kid/ architects/ stray from the path/ counterparts), Djenty and technical (Periphery, obviously, and Bulb's stuff too/ Volumes/ Entrosolet and Bleeding skies/ Structures/ Veil Of Maya/ Born of Osiris/ Animals As Leaders), and even some old school stuff (like Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, KoRn etc).
I also love Dubstep and Drum and Bass at a general level, and anything that's linked to the japanese culture (Anime openings, endings, Jpop, Jrock (Aya Hirano <3 ), Jcore etc).
Oh, and I'm very fond of classical music (Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Rachmaninov and for more actual stuff, Nobuo Uematsu).

Favorite spot?
Anywhere in Japan. One day I'll go live there, that's my goal in life :3
Equipment used:
AxeFx Ultra for guitars and bass (playing with a Schecter Hellraiser C1 Fr, an Ibanez Prestige 1527 with Aftermath Bare Knuckles and a Schecter Stiletto Custom 5 bass)
Metal Foundry with joey sturgis's kick and snare for drums
GPO, Absynth 4, Massive for anything else.
I basically plug everything with a Tascam US1800 and mix my songs in Cubase. Got 2 Mackie MR5 for monitoring.
I use a PC.
