What's up world? It's Tony Mike, I'm a up and coming hip hop artist from Madison, Florida. I've been writing/rapping since I was 9-10 years old, but hip hop has always been a passion of mine. My favorite is underground or old school, so that greatly effects my music writing style. I'm so anti-radio and anti-mainstream. I started writing as a love for it, I never limited myself to just lyrics, but stories, poetry and notes as well. I don't care to become rich or famous, I do it because it is my healthy way of releasing shit. I just want to do something involving music, whether it be a emcee, radio DJ, or just working in a studio. If something comes along, good, but this music is for me. If you just so happen to like it, good.
Why this name?
Tony Mike is my name. (Anthony Michael Urrabazo). I was formarly known as Et Cetera, you may know me by that. I had many problems with choosing a stage name (mainly having someone take a similar version or choosing an already copyrighted name). This works perfectly. Who is going to take my name?
Do you play live?
I have. I used to preform at The Flavor Of New Orleans in downtown Valdosta, Georgia. They had open mic every 1st and 3rd Thursday. I've also preformed for talent shows, I've freestyled on the radio (Hot 102.7), and have freestyled at a few clubs, but I'm looking to start doing more shows in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's good and bad. Good for someone like me, that isn't into the fame or doesn't really care to get signed. I enjoy doing it, and enjoy it more when someone loves what I love doing. But on the other hand, there are people getting robbed of their talent because everyone downloads music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe. There are a lot of grimy people out there, so I'm sorta focused on creating my own label. That way I can control how much I make, and I will know exactly how much I should be making as well as where I preform, etc. Then, the people I sign would be people that I know well enough to trust doing business with, so signing them would not only bring me money, but they know I would not f*** them over.
Band History:
Early 1996- I started rapping.

May 10th, 2005- First performance on stage in front of a 300+ crowd at Springfield High School, Toledo, Ohio.

November 11th, 2005- First studio session. First demo 'Demo 11/11'.

December 11th, 2005- Second demo "Back 2 Da Booth: Vol. 1" featuring Damichael Benton.

September 2011- Got Soulja Boy pulled from 5 radio stations including S.A. Town, L.A., and one in N.Y over the "f*** the troops" freestyle.

Your influences?
I get inspiration from all sorts of people, places, and things. I usually just get on soundclick and pick a beat, usually it's late at night, when I ''unwind'' and just let feelings go crazy. I've also listened to other artists and have written songs while listening to them, then just found another good beat to listen to. I listen to a lot of underground, and old school, like Big Daddy Kane, Big L, Big Pun, Biggie, Matlock, Tupac, Staind, Nas, R.A. Rugged Man, JMT... Idk, I've also just wrote things down as a jouranl entry and came back later and used that.
Favorite spot?
Madison, Florida. Hilltop Block. Shout out to Hilltop Hustlaz. That is where I'm from. Another favorite spot is Toledo, Ohio, that's where it kinda all started. And I have a lot of love from Glass City.
