Lemming Scream
NEWS
Five songs from the upcoming, as-yet-untitled new release are available now! Take a listen and feel free to let us know what you think!
"Hell to pay", the most recent track, is a rockin' jaunt into having nothing left to lose
"Sometimes" is a power ballad-type song exploring the broken pieces of personality.
"Suffocating" is an accoustic song touching on failure and the fear of starting over.
"Closer to the edge" is a hard look at being pushed too far.
"This Hell" is a cry for awakening from a surreal life.
We hope you enjoy these new tracks as much as we enjoy creating them!
The new album picks up where "Waiting for the echoes" ends and continues to explore the many faces of childhood neglect and abuse and the effects it has on the mind.

Lemming Scream is a slightly psychedelic, rock-n-roll band with strong delusions of grandeur.
Why this name?
"The herd mentality, doing what you're told. "Fitting in" are alien concepts (...shrugs). To better answer your question listen to our self-titled track "The Herd [No one hears the lemming scream]". You may want to read the lyrics to fully appreciate the song's intent." - Matt, Lemming Scream
Do you play live?
Pick-up jam sessions for/with friends and family. An acoustic set for the occasional open-mic nite.
"Writing takes huge amounts of time. From concept to composition...recording and producing...I can spend, literally, days sometimes working on a song. Refining the lyric, ya know...changing a word here, a line there. Playing live is a lot of fun but I get more satisfaction from the writing process...workin out those demons, ya know." - Matt, Lemming Scream

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
"I love the concept of anyone being able to express themselves and not just those with money. I mean, music use to be this exclusive club musicians had to claw their way into. Not only that but this exclusive club has maintained control over what's "popular" for decades, but now exposure to the masses is much more universal with the 'net". - Matt, Lemming Scream
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I like money! -Mr. Krabs, "Spongebob Squarepants"
Band History:
Lemming Scream started as a 3-piece band back in 2000 with Matt Brosnan on guitar, Mark Hedgpeth on bass and vocals and Rick- on drums, under the name "Fat Satchel". In 2001 the band broke up and Matt and Mark decided to reform under the new name of "Lemming Scream"and enter the studio to express themselves a bit. As an independant, self-produced endeavor their first CD, "Waiting for the echoes" took an exhausting four years to produce. It would be another three years in post-production before being released in the spring of 2008.
Since that time Mark has gone on to other interests, during which time Matt has produced a [yet-to-be-released] acoustic EP as well as beginning production on a new full-length CD, soon to be released. Some of the tracks for the new CD are available here.

Your influences?
"Oh, man....everything I've ever listened too. I grew up listening to old country...bar music, ya know...Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard...at one point, I think I was 12 or 13, I got an old album of classical music at the Goodwill and spun that for a while. Later, my brothers turned me on to, like, Black Sabbath, Triumph and stuff. I got really heavy into ACDC and Judas Priest, Metallica and stuff later on. I remember listening to a lot of '70's type stuff like Rod Stewart and Elton John while sittin' in mom's car as a kid while she sat in the bars gettin drunk" - Matt, Lemming Scream
Favorite spot?
"On stage, playing live and in the studio workin on music." - Matt, Lemming Scream
Equipment used:
"It's pretty simple stuff. I've recently bought a Mackie mixer (...laughs). When I first started recording I didn't know any better and bought a Radio Shack DJ mixer, which is what "Waiting for the echoes" was recorded through (...laughs again) what a dummy. I've got an Ibanez Performer acoustic guitar, a Gibson like Angus' [Angus Young, of ACDC], Mmm...most everything else is computer-based...drums and effects and stuff" - Matt, Lemming Scream
