Why this name?

Voxxy is all I could think of when I signed up for this site, and it has kinda stuck! "Vox" means The Voice.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think it's great for new artists. I write songs cuz I like doing it. But eventually it's nice to have other people hear them. I guess it makes self marketing a lot more accessible to a much broader audience. But easy for everyone means a lot more to have to filter through....but also more options and alternatives to just getting to hear what the general media tells you to listen to. Ultimately for me - I just wanna be on stage.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Sure if it offered what I needed... which would be financial support...HAHA....and creative freedom.

Your influences?

Where to begin, I am a huge fan of Concrete Blonde/ Johnette Napolitano. I'm into Corrosion of Comformity, Megadeth, Tool, I am all over the place Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, Heart, Soil and stuff like Portishead, Anouk, on and on. I can find something I like in almost anything. (ALMOST)
I may be listening to Barbara Streisand today and White Zombie tomorrow...or throw caution to the wind and listen to them on random play together !!!!

Favorite spot?

My favorite spot is on stage. ;)

Equipment used:

I'd tell you but I'd really have to look it all up....really, I dont keep track or pay that much attention. I use what works and get rid of what doesn't. I bought my guitar because I thought it was pretty...seriously!!!!! And my recording gear has been trial and error....I really dont care "what" it is...just whether or not it gets the job done. Or I should say (since all my solo recordings are very rough...) is user friendly and I can somewhat figure it out.

Anything else...?

I just love writing songs....they may not all be perfect....but they got me through another moment of this square little 3-D world we're all living in.
