The band are influenced very much by a more 80's Alternative style sounding at times like a metallic riff heavy Cure. No black dress sense here though ! We've drawn comparisons to the Cult and the Cure, with a vocal style hinting at Coldplay and Johnny Thunders. The key element for us however is melody and energy.
Why this name?
We've had several problems with band names ! Starting out as the Barbed Choir, then Fruit Eating Bears, Noonday Underground, One Inch Punch and Sucker Punk. All of which we had to change. Buzzsonic we thought was short and snappy and gives the impression of something 'buzzy' and energetic. We also owned the domain name already !
Do you play live?
We havn't gigged for a while but our biggest date so far was supporting Divine Comedy in London and having major label A&R sniff around.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We love the net. It democratizes the whole process of getting songs heard and levels the playing field and more importantly gives bands an instant and powerful launching pad for their music. Awesome, we love it, we remember the days of sending out cassettes ! We still have the rejection letters to prove it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not ever. Ever.
Band History:
Buzzsonic sprang out of the ashes of 90's London band the Fruit Eating Bears and are currently down to just the songwriting duo of guitarist Martin Johnson and singer/lyricist Adrian Fusiarski with both the bassist and drummer fleeing for pastures new.
With a transatlantic gulf between them, London based Martin and Florida based Adrian are working on the remainder of the forthcoming mini- album, "Beat Your Heart Out" via the wonders of DSL until a new year studio session is finalized.
Buzzsonic are an electric musical soundclash sounding at times like Johnny Thunders fronting a metallic Coldplay. Or a 'Goth' Joy Division dueling with the Cult ! The inevitable '80's Alternative Rock' comparisons have been leveled thick and fast. Eclectic, if nothing else.

Your influences?
Being English born and bred all of our influences tend to come from english new wave bands of the 70's and 80's, like the Rezillos, Buzzcocks, Cult, Cure, Sex Pistols, Jam, Happy Mondays and the like. We love US power pop/punk like the Romantics, Green Day too. generally anything riffy and with melody. Currently we love Coldplay for the melancholy and songwriting and bands like Muse and older stuff like the Pixies. Too huge a list to put here !
Favorite spot?
Well currently Florida is the best for me ( singer, Adrian ) as I'm enjoying being a beach bum and escaping the English weather !
