Heavy rain
New Season is a Norwegian band, posted in a little town called Kristiansand. They make all of their music at BasementRock - studioes, witch is their own home-studio. Hopefully New Season will play their future songs in a better studio, all though the quality on the precent songs are quite good.
Why this name?
We had a really hard time finding a name for the band. In the end we just took the finest song-title we had, and made that our band-name. And that was New Season. We had to re-name the song then, but that wasn`t so hard.
Do you play live?
We havn`t played live yet, but it shouldn`t bee fare away now. Up until now, It has only been Espen Johannessen and Espen Daland in New Season. But now we have a guitarist standing by, and we are in search of a drummer. So hopefully it wont bee to long before we are standing on a stage. (We have all been performing LIVE with others band)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Offcourse it does. But I`m not so shure that its a bad thing. It`s easier for people to find new bands etc. The music industry will allways find a way to make money anyway.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That is what we are hopening for. Hopefully it`s in the neares future.
Band History:
New Season was created about a year ago. There are two members in the band at the moment. Each of them has a musical background. One of them, Espen Johannessen has spent most of his life in his basement, playing his guitar. Espen Daland has played in a few locale bands before he hooked up with Johannessen. Daland has also a classic-guitar background.
Your influences?
I think we are influenced from very many, and different artists. But If I was to manchen some of them, I would say Dave M-band, Incubus, Alice in chains, DumDum-boys, Dream Theater.....hmm I could go on and on whit this thoug :)
Favorite spot?
I would have to say Kairo, Egypt.
