Why this name?

Melakartha means 'fundamental' collection, and its a basic concept in Carnatic (indian) music. I really liked the name, and it sounded pretty sharp!

Do you play live?

Not much nowadays, but I'm slowly working my way to putting together a live band to play the stuff of here.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Love it! Business models are evolving, but only the smart artists can really make a career out of music now.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Sure. Why not?
