Blive and Soulbrotha are a dynamic combination of producer and emcee, hiphop artists who refuse to follow the status quo, instead look forward to pushing the envelope of hip hop music through their beats, rhymes, rhythm and soul .
This group began sometime in 2003 and are preparing themselves for the next level of artistry expressed through music.

Why this name?
We do not have one as at this time. What's more important right now to us is making music. We are all about priority.
Do you play live?
We will very soon if and when given the chance. One of our most memorable moments was the day we bought our first microphone (straight from Wal-Mart LOL yup!) and began recording on B's computer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet via mp3 has already begun fashioning the music industry. Consumers just like you and me can easily have access to our favorite songs and bands by just a simple click of the mouse. Unfortunately, with innovations like this come the disadvantages such as internet piracy, bootlegging, biting (hip hop slang for stealing lyrics) etc. However we feel the internet will by the grace of God put our group out there to the masses that would like to hear something a little different from the usual.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if such a major label will allow us to be ourselves, express ourselves and do what we want both creatively and financially with our music. We hate boundaries and do NOT want to be bound by any form of limitation through a corporation whoever they may be.
Your influences?
So many, too numerous to mention but artists from Kirk Franklin to Third Day, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, KRS-One, Rakim, Nas, Jay-Z, Peabo Bryson, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, ABBA, Boney M, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, Creed, Duran Duran, Sade Adu, Jay Dee, The Roots, Soulquarians, A Tribe called Quest, De La Soul, Gangstarr, Roberta Flack, Lauryn Hill, Kenny Loggins, The Beatles to Michael Jackson....the list goes on and on.
We don't put ourselves in a box when it comes to how we express ourselves.

Favorite spot?
Home is where the heart is....on earth that is.
Anything else...?
Please don't hesitate to listen to the new stuff we're putting out. We are currently working on our second mixtape. These mixtapes are a combination of beats we love from famed producers and Blive himself but consist mostly of freestyles without the use of PEN and PAPER just off heart without any rehearsing. Even though some of it might seem forced we are trying as much as possible to stick to the true art of freestyling which seems to be lost in Hip Hop music today.
We also believe that Hip Hop as a culture does not only consist of rap music but is a tree that bears the fruits of music (being emceeing and or spoken word/poetry/rap), graffiti, b-boying (a true artform hopefully not lost yet), industry (entertainment, record label companies, business sense), dress sense, language but most importantly Hip Hop is a gift from God to us man, by which He communicates Himself in these forms to us in order for us to understand His plan for us in these end times and last days.
