A VERY BIG WELCOME TO ME AND MY MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS. My musical creativity covers several genre's all controlled by the powers that be at the time of writing, thus making my songs all very different indeed to you the listener. I hope you enjoy what you hear from me.....have a nice day :0)
Why this name?
This is my own name
Do you play live?
I play live in a rock/pop band playing in and around the area where I live which is Notts, Derby's, Lincs, Yorks, UK. At the end of the day music is derived from creating something LIVE in the first place, so, in my opinion LIVE music can't do anything other than live on.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is such a great place for songwriters/lyricists and so on, the only thing I can't seem to come to terms with is the vast competition out there now days which wasn't around throughout the years gone by.
Band History:
Welcome to music creations. My name is John Carter and I come from a small town in central UK called Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I believe I am creating songs with a slightly different style from the usual, which I simply call 'My original down to earth music'. I thank you for your time visiting my site and hope you enjoy what you hear. If you think you have anything in common with me and my musical ideas or would just simply like to talk music, I would love to hear from you.
I was born: - 15-1-54 in a small town in Nottinghamshire, called Mansfield, central UK. I grew up in and around Mansfield area until the age of 16yrs and then moved to Retford North Nottinghamshire. My family has a history of working in the coal mines in which I followed in my younger years. At 11 years old I took a great interest in music. Little did I know I would still be so much interested in the subject today. It is only in recent years that I have realized that I have some hidden inspirations regarding song writing, and am enjoying bringing them to the surface in my present years. I always remember my 7th birthday as a child, I cried and cried as my Mother and my Father took me in and out of all the music shops in and around Mansfield searching for a guitar that they couldn't afford to buy, all I wanted was a guitar; I could see loads of them, why couldn't we just take one. Not realizing they were looking for something they couldn't afford, not understanding as a child. These memories to me tell me one thing; music was built into me. Musical ideas go right back to childhood, I didn't all of a sudden stipulate I wanted to be a part of song writing, there was no fixed date for starting all this. As far as I can see it's always been there, but really is a shame that it's not until my later years that I have taken it seriously.
Your influences?
Very very very many.......the list goes on.......but Bill Nelson is right at the top
Favorite spot?
IN BED on a wild and windy British night listening to mother nature play her part creaking my house which is coming up 100 years old.
Anything else...?
I would just like to say to fellow songwriters and lyricists out there....just try to have all the patience in the world and be nothing other than yourself when laying music or lyrics down, never ever be a copy cat trying to be someone else.......ok you may have great influences but, just let them be your influences, thus allowing your true self to shine through, the natures from within your original self.
