description
This is a song I originally wrote and performed with my guitar in 1999 for a Women's History Month function. I finally decided it was time to create a backing track for it and I updated the lyrics a bit...
I was inspired to work on this song when

Retired Air Force gal with a passion for my faith, my family, my country, and music...I enjoy singing on various online music/karaoke sites and have recently decided to start writing music again and taking some of the many songs I've written over the years and creating backing tracks for them.

Why this name?
It's my first and middle names!
Do you play live?
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet enables the artist to promote their own music and not have to wait for a label to promote them....it's great!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
And give them a percentage of my take? As an Indie Artist I have full creative control over my music and know enough about marketing to do it all myself...which translates to...I keep what I make (after taxes, of course!)...
Band History:
Lisa Mei is a singer/songwriter whose musical highlight was being one of 28 cast members chosen out of 200+ worldwide finalists to tour with the Air Force's Elite Entertainment Troupe, "Tops in Blue" as a vocalist/dancer. Lisa toured with Tops in Blue in 1990-91 performing in 144 shows at 137 locations around the world for military members and their families (very much like a USO show).
Music has always been a great passion for Lisa as she came from a very musical family. She has sung in numerous school and church choirs during her early years culminating in taking 5th place in a nationally-televised Asian Amateur Singing Contest when she was a senior in highschool while stationed in Hong Kong with her family. She was the lead singer for various bands (Top 40's, Pop, Oldies, and Rock) performing at various military Officer and Noncommissioned Officer Clubs overseas during her 20-year military career. She also had a short stint singing bass with the Sweet Adelines International - Heart of Maryland Chorus (female barbershop quartet). Since retiring from the Air Force, Lisa has been writing songs in between her "day job" as a defense contractor and taking care of her family. She has performed some of her original works at various special functions and is a registered member of ASCAP.
Lisa also enjoys singing for fun on the various online karaoke sites (such as SingSnap.com and YouTube.com).
Lisa is back to writing songs and hopes to release her debut CD in 2009.
