Groove to the music of Stripey Howling Hancock, Exeter’s most agreeable busker!
For more than thirty years Stripey, aka Nigel, has entertained a grateful public with his unique blend of Ragtime, Celtic and Country styles, spiced with the folk traditions of Eastern Europe and more than a touch of humour.
A former member of Chucklefoot Musical Medicine Show and the New Exeter Jug Band, Stripey has been a solo performer since around 1996. A regular on the streets of Exeter and many a Devon town, and also at clubs and gigs, festivals and farmers' markets throughout the Westcountry, he is also an excellent raconteur who'll regale you at the drop of a coin with scandalous tales of the Great and the Good in the world of Folk Music that would make a lesser man rich. Not to be missed!
