This site is set up for members of the Pocketstudio 5 Users Group. The PS5UG was launched shortly before the demise of TASCAM's online forums, to allow interested users of the PS5 to continue exploring ways to use this unique machine. The PS5 is a 4-track digital recorder made by TASCAM, with built-in effects and MIDI-style backing tracks. Finished mixes can be exported as 128K MP3 files for posting on the web. Users are able to trade song files back and forth, allowing for collaborations anywhere the Internet will reach.
All the music here has been contributed by members, some working alone, most with other musicians around the world. See individual songs for recording details, who plays what, and links (if any) to websites containing more music by any particular artist.

The PS5UG is open to anyone with an interest in the Pocketstudio 5. Membership is free. Users are under no obligations, and may unsubscribe at any time. There are two sites, with both containing downloadable help files, links to PS5 resources and member music pages, photos, and an active online chat system. The community at large is dedicated to helping fellow users get the most from their PS5, with frequent tips and feedback on songwriting, external equipment, and the odd off-topic excursion.
