Evangeline are an acoustic duo, based in Leicester in the heart of England. Drawing on a wide range of influences, the pair - Pete Raj (lead guitar/harmony vocals) & Ian Babington (lead vocal/guitar/songwriter) - create a form of acoustic pop that is set to win them fans all around the world. Originally formed in the mid '90s, they are newly reunited and writing new tunes & booking new gigs. Some of the tunes here are lifted from the eponymous 1996 EP, but June '08 brings NEW tunes, in the form of the 'Easy Now' EP - four brand new tunes, Easy Now,Tambourine, Stay With Me Now, & St.Valentine's Day,all recorded in April at Musoplex Studios. Thanks a million for your support & interest.
Why this name?
From an Icicle Works track listing ! Ian McNabb is one of Ian B's heroes, and so we chose the name as a tribute

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No - mixing with musicians who have been eaten up and spat out by the corporate machine has shown that the 'major deal' isn't the dream that everyone thinks. These days the DIY ethic is the way to go.
Band History:
A full band history, if you would like to know more about us, is available at www.evangelinemusic.com........the future, however, promises to be far more exciting!!
Your influences?
Beatles, La's, Icicle Works, Byrds, Bunnymen, Wonder Stuff, Queen, McNabb, Neil Young, Smiths
Favorite spot?
Liverpool - our love of harmony vocals & strong melodies, the list of influences above, and our obsession with the Beatles leads us to think we are actually Scousers who were just born in the wrong place!
