Why this name?
I got my name tag from my mentor because of how i would manage to come up with exclusive songs before they hit the radio and keep the crowds jumping from the start of my set to the end of it. So i was branded the crown of the Original Blazewun. I didnt like it but the name just seem to have stuck throughout the years and I accepted it and wear my crown well.
Do you play live?
I play the local club scenes in Washington and California with frequent stops in Oregon. My most special moment is when I was hired by to play my first club and the crowd welcomed me in open arms and really felt my set.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a great tool for networking or independantly promoting your product or project to where everyday people can enjoy your music works without having major labels red tape to try and get it exposed. However i will never support the illegal usage of mp3's or filesharing because its stealing and the artist can not improve their craft or fund it without retail sales. So if you like the artist support the product and buy it to where you are the owner of the purchased works. that way labels will have the money to properly package, promote, distribute and market their new artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign with a major label if they supported my vision of artistic expression as well as standing behind my product. Major labels are great tools in terms of getting quality exposure and the mainstream attention that most independant labels can not fund immediately. As long as I get paid my market value from a major label then everything is peaches and creme
Your influences?
I would have to say thay i have a broad range of influences ranging from Quincy Jones, Dj Premier, Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, Dj Muggs, Paul Oakenfold, Kraftwerk, Rza , George Clinton , the list goes on. I admire any producer who's sound expands the limits of their genre.
Favorite spot?

Anything else...?
There's a serious void in hip hop. The void exist because of the countless new artist that are totally cliche'. No one is taking the iniative to put hip hop on their shoulders and bring something new to the table. Hip hop has become big business and artist tend to go with what is already selling units and not what will sell units. Hip hop lacks integrity. Lets take away some of the stereotypes of over exposed images and get back to the basics which is production skills and skilled lyricism. Push the envelope and have your peers respect your craft and not your chart position. The worst thing about being on top that you will eventually fall off.. but if you stay afloat in the middle you can see everything both up the mountain and down the hill. Be remembered for your contribution to hip hop. Peace
