"Press Release" January 20, 2009
WE ARE ONE! Today, to commemorate the inauguration of Barack Obama as President of the United States, I am releasing the "We Are One" mix of my song One Love One World! It is a song that promotes the fact that we all are one, despite our differences. We are all human beings sharing the human experience. A song that promotes togetherness, equality, unity, human rights and world peace. Sing it loud and sing it proud for the whole world to hear! One Love One World has been performed by hundreds of school children all across the USA, Canada, Australia and China! Together we can all help make the world a better place.
"Once we get beyond prejudice we'll experience world peace, once we remove the word hate from our vocabulary we'll experience a better world. May the world find peace and may we put an end to war, violence, terrorism and intolerance. There is peace underneath all the chaos in this world, take time to meditate and experience it. The more we focus on peace the more we will create it. Perform randon acts of kindness everyday, do something nice for a compete stranger or someone you love every day and see how it changes your life in a positive way." Craymo
Congratulations to Barack Obama for being elected President of the United States Of America! Change, yes we can!
"One Love One World" is a grass-roots campaign for world peace and tolerance. We are all the same regardless of color, race, nationality, religion, shape, size, handicap or sexual preference. We are all part of the human race. Please join me and send the link to my webpage http://www.soundclick.com/craymo out to everyone on your email list. If we all listened and sang along at the same time, wouldn't that be amazing? We can help affect a positive change in the world. Together we already are. May we find more ways to find a peaceful solution to our problems and learn to accept each other's differences. If you believe in peace be pro-active, get involved, support peace projects and the peace movement.
When you get a chance, check out the new Momentary Remix of my song Having A Moment. It is a positive, uplifting song about dealing with depression. Hope you like it! My first cousin took his own life and it led me to create this beautiful song. Hopefully it will help prevent others from making the same mistake.

I have recently been blessed with two amazing reviews of my debut CD "Cosmos!" Here's one:
"Cosmos" is the latest CD from Florida-based singer-songwriter-performer Craymo. Through the years, many singer-songwriters have succeeded through a certain combination: talent, production values, drive, etc... and, in the case of so many independent musicians, it's the spiritual need within the artist to bring their individual artistry to the masses (as well as our need, as an audience, to hear them!). But the best qualities that a musician can have are always innate. Indeed, Florida native Craymo does have an innate gift: his voice. It's yearning, thoughtful, occasionally vulnerable, and even slightly pained at times... but always grounded and solid. Of course, at moments on "Cosmos"-- as the album's title would suggest-- Craymo's voice can and does rise to abstract and ethereal heights. Next, there's what Craymo does with that voice. "Cosmos" features superb production values. "Having a Moment", the album's opener, just scratches the surface of this artist's unique abilities (voice, sound, persona, universal vision, etc...). Ultimately, beneath the mosaic-like coating of "Having a Moment", the message is an oft-said but important one: Take life one moment at a time, and enjoy the good ones while you have them! Track 2 is one of several songs on "Cosmos" which deserves to be broadcast to the masses worldwide: "One Love One World". It's one of Craymo's musical calling cards, with a universal, much-needed plea by Craymo worth repeating over and over again. (Sample lyrics: "We all need to lend a hand, the brotherhood of man..." and "Put your hands together now, every boy and every girl") The electro-reggae beat is catchy, uplifting, and instantly addictive-- sorta like Musical Youth ("Pass the Dutchie". Remember them?) coming into young adulthood in 2007 with a new found sense of social responsibility. "Bend" features a rock beat, complete with hard-hitting guitars and Craymo adopting a smooth, Jon Bon Jovi-style delivery.
Another emblematic Craymo track comes with "Happy Birthday". This is the first time in decades that the birthday song has been reinvented... and it was worth the wait! As one of the songs that first got Craymo the singer-songwriter noticed, this no-holes-barred remix is every bit as joyous as its title. I propose that the powers that be should pass a nationwide (NO... universal!) law requiring every US (NO...world!) citizen to receive an mp3 of Craymo's "Happy Birthday" in their inbox on that special day-- and you'd see the world become a happier place in no time. "Love Me or Leave Me" adopts a more confrontational tone, with a slight urgency in Craymo's voice as he sings, "Love me or leave me, Why do you tease me? Don't play these games! Love me or leave me, why don't you please me? It's not the same!" Hi-tech electronic swirls and curls and high-frequency waves run through this song. Nostalgia for the '70's is the theme for "Drive In Picture Show". The track features a retro beat and references to J.J. Walker, Supertramp, lava lamps, and more pop culture name-dropping. Best of all, Craymo invites us to join him in his funky remembrances, singing "Lets go! Let's go-o-o! Down to the drive in picture show!"-- and we definitely want to jump into the back seat. But perhaps the best line (and my favorite!) is "Take me back to the decade I love, way before 'No glove, no love!'" For "Static Surfer", Craymo adopts a slacker persona (Think Beastie Boys or Blink 182), with lyrics to match. "Coitus Interruptus" (No, it's not a Lil Kim song!) is actually not as dirty as its title, and "Daybreak" is a song about the proverbial "morning after"-- which has been a fertile source of inspiration for songwriters for many years.
As I said before, Craymo has a supple vocal range-- at times he "plays it safe", other times he experiments a bit: For Track #14, "Be My Girl" (one of the true gems on this CD), Craymo adopts a different tone, a distant Europop (almost cocky) vocal style in this variation on the teenybopper/boy band love song. BUT... there's a twist, and you have to listen to the song to get it (I ain't tellin'!). But every track gets it right. "Migraine" for example, is a mid-tempo song simply about having a migraine-- no more, no less! And every track's a crowdpleaser, especially "Take It Slow", where we vividly visualize Craymo, on stage with a mic in his hand, getting a crowded club worked up (No doubt, a vestige from Craymo's days as a DJ...)
"Cosmos" is truly a magnus opus, featuring 14 full-blooded songs. He doesn't waste a single note or lyric. Craymo clearly has a lot to say on his own, but he also seems to soak up inspiration from the state of the world around him. Since he translates these experiences into music so well, let's hope he keeps right on getting inspired!

"Craymo's music is just fun. You listen to it when you just want to have a joyous kiddish and fun time. If you have children or nieces and nephews around the way, you should grab Craymo's CD and blast this throughout the house and just enjoy the happy time in life we all sometime push to the side or overlook. Craymo has been able to make music that side steps our need for the over saturated sexual and ego driven music the industry feels people only want to hear." Here is a special holiday gift that I have received this year and one that I am very grateful for. This is the 4th school across the USA, see letter below, who has contacted me that will have performed my song "One Love One World" at their school! By simply doing a search on the internet to find a song about world peace and tolerance school teachers and or students have contacted me regarding performing it! Another amazing thing happened this past year in August(2005). Students from Massachusettes went on a field trip to China to teach English to students there, they brought a copy of my CD and taught them "One Love One World" and then they all performed it! (See other letter below)
May we all give thanks for the special people in our lives.
Peace and Love,
Craymo
Hello,
I am a K-1-2 grade special education teacher. Every year our school honors peace, diversity, tolerance and the like at an evening event near Martin Luther King Day. I found your song and would very much like the children to sing your song.
If possible, do you have sheet music for the song?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Michelle

Dear Craymo,
I am a high school student and am planning on doing a summer educational
program for the children of Pang Liu village, a rural village outside of
Xian, China. My brother and I will be teaching basic English, and hope to
teach them a song. I found your song ?One Love, One World? on the web and
thought it would be perfect. Is there any way I could purchase an
instrumental version so that the kids can sing the lyrics themselves? I
will also be playing your CD with the vocals included to give the kids a
sense of the song and help them practice it.

Hey Craymo,
We got back on the 5th at 11 pm and I started school the next day. I'm
sorry that I did not send you any emails while in China. The internet
situation was very poor over there. Even after we paid for the
connection they could not connect us. The program was very successful and
while we were there 28 American teachers came to visit the village and
they all learned about our program. The children were all eager to learn
your song and by the end of the program they all lined up in the
courtyard to sing your song. A group of Harvard alumni are visiting China
right now and the kids are prepared to sing your song to them. We taped
the kids learning and singing "One Love, One World" and when I have
time I will put together a DVD and send it to you. If you have any other
questions, comments, concerns, please ask.
Ted

Our song "Making Memories" was recently featured as the theme song for the Orlando Citrus Parade!
Please ask for my album "Cosmos" and my CD single "One Love One World" in your favorite record stores! Thank you, my fans, you are the best fans in the world!! Together we can help make this world a better place!
Look for Craymo's "Cosmos Across America Tour" coming to a city near you!
I was recently involved with One World Beat a concert event in March raising money for AIDS drugs for Africa and an organization called Keep a Child Alive. Song downloads by myself and other artists are donating some of the proceeds of our songs to this charity.
Craymo Music, BMI and Moho Music, ASCAP licensed the theme song for a new motion picture called "Miss Castaway" starring Eric Roberts and Michael Jackson! The song is called "Lookin Good Feelin Good!" by Jarrett and the DVD is available online at www.misscastaway.com! It's sort of Baywatch meets Airplane!
Why this name?
It's a nickname given to me by other dj's when I worked at a radio station in upstate New York. My real name is Craig Raymo and I used to sign the program logs with my first initial C then my last name Raymo. Put em together and you've got Craymo! I guess it stuck!
Do you play live?
Yes, with my band I've been playing the Los Angeles club scene, the Whiskey, The Roxy, Coconut Teaser, etc...I'm a member of the SongsAlive singer/songwriter community. We recently opened a show for Smashmouth! I love performing live and feeding off the audience. I've been doing some acoustic gigs at the Moondog Cafe, Moomba, Sherman Oaks Lounge, SongsAlive Expo at UCLA, etc. and I love the intimate vibe.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives us unsigned artists a voice. It helps us to create new fans too. It helps us discover the music we like without having radio and labels dictate what we listen to.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, because then my music has the chance of being heard more often, all over the world, reaching more people. Touching more fans. The internet will still be a big outlet for my music.
Band History:
Craymo is a solo artist singer/songwriter who grew up in upstate New York then moved to Los Angeles to pursue his singing career. He recently licensed songs in two indie films, one is "That Darn Bear" starring Ed Begely Jr in theatres this summer and "Rubbernecking" starring Corbin Bernson and Debra Wilson(MadTV). He has been recording songs for the past few years and is currently in the studio in Malibu working on some new tracks. Craymo recently moved to Orlando, Florida and is setting up his home base there!
Your influences?
The Cars, Sweet, David Bowie, The Cure, Duran Duran, Prince, ELO, Elton John, Morrissey, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson. Craymo is about rockin' guitars, emotional vocals, fun grooves and interesting harmonies. There's a little glam as well as R&B and punk influences and best of all you can dance to my songs!
Favorite spot?
Inner Bliss, the meditation zone!
Equipment used:
Pro-tools.
Anything else...?
