We are a five member group from Savonlinna city in eastern Finland (oh yes, there is something between Helsinki and Russian border). Our main goal is to make listeners enjoy themselves, and we like and tend to entertain. Total control over the world would be nice too, but let's stick to the subject. We're here to make you shake them hips!
Why this name?
Our former name was unintentionally related to drug use, so we decided to change it. In some lazy july afternoon our drummer Eemeli was goofing around with a french dictionary, and laughing at the words of the most romantic language in the world. Somehow one of those words had a wierd ironic context with the size of our hometown, and we found ourselves playing under a name Grandeville.
Do you play live?
We play almost everywhere, and every single time someone is listening, it's a special moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There are pros and cons. I think Mp3 hosting is a great way of distributing parts of your soul.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely, if the terms and conditions were suitable.
Band History:
The band Grandeville was originally founded in the late 2002 under a name Lust. Musical genre was quite rough considering today's dominating emotionality. After releasing a demo with a name Ecstasy the band withdrew for a while to get some air. In a few years, during the break or so, the band went through some major adjustements and ended up changing its name to Grandeville. With a few decent gigs, released promo, possible spring tour and an upcoming record Grandeville keeps going. Hope you like it!
Your influences?
Grandeville is all about expression. Deep roots in the popular music such as Bon Jovi and John Mayer merge with great enthusiasm on indie rock and electric blues
