Why this name?
It is my name.
Do you play live?
Yeah. The first performance I did musically was in the school band playing trumpet. The first time I played guitar was with some friends for a gig on a boat. We did some jazz standards and stuff- loved it. I also played in two bands in Damascus, Syria. They were "The Part Mentals" and "The Chams". I loved the free drinks I'd get at bars, and when there was only standing room.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has made it so that ordinary people like me offer their music to a wide audience- if it weren't for internet, only my mom would have heard anything I've recorded. Now, with the internet, I have had tens of thousands of people listen.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I guess I would, if I had the oppourtunity. I would only sign a shot-term contract, and try to retain as many rights to my work as I can. Then hopefully, once I had the larger fan base that a major label with good marketing can get you, i would let my contract expire and start my own label and try and help people like me.
Your influences?
I dunno, my tastes change, right now I am listening to Nelly Furtado's second album and the Little Willies alot. But my biggest influences, I guess, would be the Beatles, Jars of Clay, The Eagles, and Matchbox Twenty.
Favorite spot?
Without a doubt Frankfurt, Germany and anywhere the people who made it my home for me are.
Equipment used:
I use what I can, I own a Korg Triton sythn/keb, an Epiphone Spot, Ovation Celebrity and Balladeer. I also own a Line6 stereo amp. But when I record, I borrow my dad's Gibson Les Paul, Fender Jazz Bass, ME33 Effects pedal, and Rickenbacker 12- but thats only when I'm at home.
