I was watching t.v late one night after a few beers and at the end of the programme i was watching the main character was carried away by a mexican dog circus.I was drunk so i thought "thats the name ive been looking for".

It gives people like myself a forum to get our music heard by alot of people.Before internet sites like soundclick.com it was very difficult for unsigned artists to get their music to a wide audience.

It would depend on the label.If they were going to try and control everything i tried to release then i would rather stay unsigned.Im not concerned about hit records.I just want to write great songs.

MEXICAN DOG CIRCUS – BIO
THE BAND WAS FORMED BY DARREN IN FEB 2002 AFTER HE HAD SPENT A YEAR WRITING AND PERFORMING SOLO.THE DECISION WAS MADE TO GO INTO THE STUDIO AND LAY DOWN SOME SONGS HE HAD WRITTEN.SO DARREN WENT INTO THE STUDIO TO RECORD JOINED BY OLD FRIENDS EAMON CONDRON(BASS) AND NEIL POWER(DRUMS).THE RESULTING 3 TRACK CD WAS HANDED AROUND TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LISTEN.THE REACTION WAS REALLY GOOD SO DARREN,EAMON, NEIL AND ANOTHER OLD FRIEND AIDAN REYNOLDS(LEAD GUITAR) SET ABOUT BRINGING THE CIRCUS TO THE PEOPLE.
ON JUNE 3RD 2002 MEXICAN DOG CIRCUS PLAYED ITS FIRST GIG.IT WAS A SUCCESS.OVER THE NEXT YEAR THE BAND PERFORMED SEVERAL GIGS AROUND DUBLIN.THEY BUILT A GOOD FOLLOWING AND IT SEEMED THINGS WERE MOVING WELL.HOWEVER DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THE BAND SPLIT AFTER WHAT WAS PROBABLY THEIR FINEST PERFORMANCE ON JULY 7TH 2003.
DARREN PLAYED A GIG ON JULY 4TH 2004 WITH HIS BROTHER STEPHEN AND GARY BOTH OF NOAH TAKES THE JUNGLE TAKING DRUMS AND BASS DUTIES.IT WAS INTENDED TO BE A ONCE OFF BUT WITH KIND WORDS FROM SUPPORT BAND ANGELS OF MONS PLUS MANY OF THE CROWD HE DECIDED TO PUT A NEW BAND TOGETHER.
IT HAS TAKEN A FULL YEAR TO GET THINGS MOVING BUT A NEW BAND STARTED REHEARSING IN JUNE AND WILL BE PLAYING LIVE VERY SOON.THERE ARE LOTS OF NEW SONGS AND THIS COULD BE THE BEST STUFF YET.SO RUN AWAY AND JOIN THE CIRCUS!

Everything from Tool,Smashing Pumpkins,Alice in chains to Tom Waits,Damien Rice,and even A-ha and Prince.(Strange mixture).Any music with feeling inspires me.

Chicago,id love to go back there.
