Most of the songs were written while traveling in the southwest U.S., especially New Mexico. Time Traveling refers to how we all are traveling through this time and place, not necessarily in a sci-fi sense, but in a more existential sense.

Sean is only alive when on-stage. The rest of RL is just downtime.

The music industry is in trouble because of basic economics. First it was cable TV, then the Internet and other electronic pastimes that thwart the development of a middle-class of musicians. Until this is rectified, musicians will have to endure this continued "Golden Age".

No way. I was a music-business major in college - I'm only too well aware how one-sided label contracts are, besides being allegory and in the classic sense, not even a label contract. (In so-called label contracts, the label and artist actually do not sign a contract between each other.)
