"Established in January 2006, gothic electronica band the Sectumsepras was the original Evil Witch Rock Band. Conveying an even darker side of the Harry Potter universe than the songs of Draco and the Malfoys, Lamia and Schizo’s enigmatic approach to their lyrics deliver the cutting edge of the wizard rock genre.

As well as their lyrics, the music, produced by a laptop computer allowing for more instruments that the duo could pal all at once, and their catchy, gothic tunes warrant multiple plays."

Why this name?

The band name is a spell created by The Half-Blood Prince, our favorite character.

Do you play live?

We do not play live, but have considered the idea greatly.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The industry is changing. The internet will spawn a new wave of artists who have to learn to market themselves rather than rely on labels.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Wizard Rock is all about promoting reading among young children and adults alike. I would never sign to a major label with this band nor would I want to make a profit. All inspiration for this band belongs to J.K. Rowling, therefore, I cannot accept the rewards of her genius. Perhaps with another project.
