WELCOME IN THE BLUESBOX
------------------------------------

We slowed down our uploads a bit because we made friends with Magic Mike, from West Virginia.

We started recording the blues via long distance and bluesbox studios are now 100% on that project. We are making a CD, we will call Overseas.

Here you've got a player ..... enjoy the tunes, folks. WE SURE DO !!!!

Since December 2006 we are guesting all sort of folks here, musicians, artists, listeners, young, old, boys & girls (and all in between).

We thank you all for the support and the interest shown in our music. All your clicks managed to push us always very high in the charts and that's truly flattering.

Unluckily we cannot dedicate 100% of our time to music production. That's why the quality of our recordings is not properly up to standards.

But we don't care too much.

Firstly all the songs are essentially ideas we developed in a hurry, pushed by only one intent: putting our music out there the quickest (in the spare time we have from our jobs/families).

Second at bluesbox we think that a good wine can be enjoyed even if it is poured into a plastic cup. Have you ever heard somebody refusing champagne just because of the glass it was served in ?

No ... I'm not implying our music is as good as champagne, of course. It's just a good metaphore, I guess.

Many musicians are recording nearly every night at bluesbox, here they are:

- Emilio Zilioli: drums & piano (a.k.a. Cecyl Zyllosky)
- Ciro Di Biase: alto sax (a.k.a. Cyrille Du Bijas)

All of them are also fictional carachters of a un-written novel that we use to create most of the lyrics, sounds, imaginary places, situations, times, events, etc. That's why I secondarily introduced them with "a.k.a" in brackets.

The only true thing about these stories is that we love playing and to find any excuse to do it .... aren't we in a virtual dimension right now ?

Why this name?

Basically I am in love with the blues and I know more musicians then I'd need in a single band. That's how I started out in December 2006.

I thought: "I'll put them all in a box and call it BLUESBOX" !

I never wanted to form a traditional band, just wanted to play with all of them, push "record" and give the result to the world ....
Do you play live?

Each musician recording for BLUESBOX has his/her own live and studio experiences. Very often me or some of the guys "in the box" play live in different situations.

The songs on this pages have never been performed live on stage, though. Actually some of the musicians on them never played together ... and some don't even know each other !!!!

We all would love to play BLUESBOX music live and I'm sure we'll get there, eventually.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Well ... letting a lawyer producing his own music it's quite a thing, I guess !

I'd never been able to do this before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

hmmmmhh we'd sit 'n talk...... producing music myself is such a big fun and, yes, I'm happy with my "real" job
Band History:

I started drumming in the Christmas 1973 at 6 years old, when my partents gave me a toy drumkit, precisely - being them big fans of Beatles - it was a replica of the famous Silver Sparkling Gretsch, owned by Ringo Starr.
I started playing acoustic guitar at 13 and I formed many bands, mainly rock'n roll and blues .... I never stopped playing.

.... and I never will
Your influences?

Everything influenced me but the blues definitly got me.

My favourite artists are Elvis Presley & Jimi Hendrix. My favourite bands are Rolling Stones & Beatles. Then Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklyn, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Freddy King, Eric Clapton, Yardbirds, John Mayall, Steve Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Robert Johnson, Lighting Hopkins, Lowell Fulson, Howling Wolf, Van Morrison, Marshall Tucker Band, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Deep Purple, Jefferson Airplane, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, Elmore James, Lousiana Red, Jimmy Reed, Otis Rush, Ray Cooder, Robert Cray, Roy Buchanan, Magic Sam, Bobby "blue" Blind, Menphis Slim, Wynone Harris, T-bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, ... do I have to continue ?

Jordan Huwes life was a pain. He used to beg at the bus stop, meeting the same people everyday but everybody was pretending not to know him, even that girl he was crazily in love to ....
