Hello.. I am Clint Lewis I am Country and Southern Rock singer/ songwriter from Laurel Indiana. I do alot of my own original songs and am writting more for the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it changes it for the better but at the same time it can hurt the music industry by people getting free downloads.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YES Anytime....
Band History:
Clint Lewis was born in Connersville, Indiana. A small auto factory town & farming community. On a cold Dec. winter day, but there is nothing cold about him or his musical style. At a young age he was surrounded by music. His family are all very very musical. He was given his first guitar at age 13 by his dad, Dick Lewis. While sitting on the hood of his Uncle Jack's car, he learned his first few chords. Clint had really caught on fast and was on his way but, not long after Clint would have an accident that would claim the end of his left ring finger. The Doctor told Clint his guitar playing days were over! Clint has another plan, he would re-teach himself to play using only 3 fingers! Clint worked really hard & Soon he was playing again! <> Clint's musical influences are, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Sr., David Allen Coe, and Johnny Paycheck to name a few. His writing style shows this. Pure Country feel! <> Clint joined his first real band when he was 25, though he had always loved to play & sing for & with family & Friends. Clint learned a lot from the bands he was in through the few years, some country & Bluegrass. Clint paid his dues playing in little dives, greasy spoons, clubs & festivals in and around the area. After a few years people began to ask Clint if they could buy his music. So, Clint went to work & joined the talent of his Uncle Jake, (who had ties with Legand Tom T. Hall) and his singing & the fist CD project was recorded in the late 1990's. "Clint Lewis - "Breakin' Point" It had all originals. It was very well received and is still popular today! Clint then started to write more on his own, and soon he had enough of his own songs to recored a second CD. Clint's writing style is a mix of classic country, feel good, want to make you party or cry in your beer music on this CD, plus so what we just are here to have fun. So in 2003 Clint recorded his 2nd CD titled " Clint Lewis- "Friends & Honkytonk Crowds". All the tracks on this cd were written by Clint. In 2007 Clint was really inspired to write about the violence in schools & the Amish school shootings were really the final straw for him. Clint sat down with wife Tracy Lewis, & singer/songwriting/ freind Patti Stevens & wrote " The School Song" Clint released a single later in 07' that has got a lot of responce! He has dedicated this song to all who have been affected by violence in schools in the U.S.A. & all who it effects. <> Clint has some projects in the works for a new CD he he hopes to complete in the winter of 08' or spring of 09' Please check out the Video of "The School Song" and also we would like to remind you to listen to Country Rose on soundclick, She is a awesome lady that has a station on sound click that support Indie Country artist.
