Heartbeat was formed back in 2002 within the Youth Church of Full Gospel Assembly Kuala Lumpur. What was initially a get together of a bunch of youth musicians who share the same love for music and an even greater love for God, later turned to a powerful group of song writters and worship leaders.
Heartbeat has since grown from just being a band to becoming a ministry for young, talented and passionate youths set out to glorify God through the means of music andsong writting.
Heartbeat recorded its debut self titled 10 song live EP back in 2003.

Why this name?
Have you ever tried tapping your toes to the tempo of your heartbeat? you find that its hard to maintain the exact tempo and speed of your own heartbeat. Heartbeat was formed with the main purpose of seeking God's heartbeat and wanting His heartbeat to resonate in our's.
Do you play live?
We play a lot of live gigs. We have played in different rally's, concerts and festivals all around Peninsular Malaysia and even in Singapore. We love to play live because the atmosphere that comes out of live worship is just simply euphoria.
There we're many special moments in all of our concerts but one particular concert at Bukit Mertajam really brought the best in the band in terms of worshipping in spirit and with our instruments. There was such a powerful sense of hunger and desperation coming from the crowd that it literally set the place on fire for God!!!it was amazing.....

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i think it changes a whole lot of things. Mainly the accesibility of songs and bands can be made much easier now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would have to see where God wants to bring this ministry.
Your influences?
WE are a very guitar orientated band.
Equipment used:
A wide range of guitars from Taylor guitars, Gibson guitars, Warwick basses, a Fender Jazz bass, Pearl Drums, Gretsch Snares, and a Korg Fantom X and Fantom series keyboards.
