Be looking out for me and my partner Juxtapozishin's new album "VB&J With The Crust Cutt Off". Release date 2007.
St Louis Missouri's first african american female house producer/dj. The Midwest Vinyl Vixen...DJ Vinyl bi***ie.
Why this name?
I got into an arguement with my boy Juxto. He asked me why was I being all bi***y, and then he just said off the top of his head Vinyl bi***y. We stopped argueing and started laughing our asses off. So I decided to end it with the IE instead of Y.
Do you play live?
Yes I play live. I like to play anywhere that I'm welcome. It's always a special moment when I'm spinnin LOL.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I used to have a negative attitude about the digital way of playing music out to a crowd, as a deejay. Now that I'm more attached to producing music, and mp3's are way more accessible and affordable...I LOVE it. It's WAY easier for me to distribute my music and it's also way easier for other deejay to obtain my work. It's also helped as far as digital promo packs. It's actually changed to music industry in a new revolutionary way. It's like a new beginning for the industry, and it will show the top music labels that the people of the world are tired of there bubble gum. I love how it cuts out the middle man, and artist can now sale there music to there audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL NO!!! Major labels are nothing but loan sharks and middle men. I say sell directly to your fans. BE INDEPENDENT!!!
