Introducing Rev. Blues, a band that plays the blues with a sweet Texas sound. The band was formed in the summer of 2001. Their mission is to play the blues with a positive message. Their goal is to reach lost souls for the honor and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. They have put together their God given talents to form Rev. Blues.
The band plays with such confidence and inspiration that can only come from hard work and long hours of practice. The Spirit filled lyrics will make you think and the music will make you want to dance. The band is influenced & inspired first by God and has taken up the calling of the Lord to spread the gospel.

Why this name?
Our band at the that time was called "Isaiah 61" and we were showcasing some blues songs for the very first time. A man approached the band and asked what's the name of the blues band. Well, at that time we told him that their really wasn't a blues band and that we were just simply trying out something new. The man's comment changed our future. He said, "well your a Reverend singing the blues perhaps you can call your band Rev. Blues if you decide to make a blues band". So that's how it all started.
Do you play live?
We play mostly in the San Antonio area. You can find our calendar by visiting us at www.rev-blues.com. We currently host a weekly Gospel Jam at Kelly Island Restaurant located at 2110 Cupples Rd, San Antonio TX. 78211 every Sunday from 1-3 pm. We have a blast and we most certainly love it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows the music to travler around the world at a click of a button. It's easy to sort and search for your favorite music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Your influences?
The band can be compared to the Texas Rocking blues of Stevie Ray Vaughn and they can be a rugged as Jimmy Hendrix. Some songs have catchy tunes that are similar to that of Jimmy Reed or as current as BB king. Most of their influence comes from such artist such as Buddy Guy and Tommy Castro. Their local influences are Randy Garibay, Jmmy Spacek, Claude Butch Morgan and Ruben V.
Favorite spot?
Our Favorite place to play is at Splashtown San Antonio. We have played there every summer for the past 5 years. We enjoy playing the Blues next to the water.
