Strangefire was a songwriting duo from the Dallas/ Ft.Worth metroplex performing and recording under the indie label Giglet Productions.
They had released 5 CDs...Fan the Flames, which defines the Strangefire sound and launched the band to instant local recognition. Their second release, Zipper Confetti made them a worldwide force to be reckoned with, with heavy web promotion and internet radio play sending them to #1 on several web charts with every song they uploaded. Their third release, Shazbot Munkie found the band on a much softer plain. However, their fourth cd, GUH? which could just possibly be their strangest yet, found the band in transition with the use of more beats and sampling and more digital formats. They had just released Ezion Their last CD. Strangefire was Mike Ash on guitars and haunting lead vocals. Mike is a unique artist, in both the emotional and improvisational sound of his vocals, and his songwriting style. Backed up by Tak! on synth/keys and vocal manipulators to create a smooth, sometimes eerie backdrop for the Strangefire experience. The fresh synthesized sound is something that hasn't been duplicated by any other band in recent history. With the breakup of Strangefire in August of 2008 both Mike and Tak have decided to leave their music posted on SoundClick and several other sites. They have both re-grouped and are going forward with solo projects. For more of Mike Ash, please check out Decaying Orbit here on SoundClick and Myspace. Tak is now recording and touring with Matt Harrington (formerly with Velvet Moon) Look for song updates and tour info coming soon.

Band History:
Tak and Mike met in 2003. They found each had an interest in music and both played an instrument. Mike had written several songs and Tak joined in on keyboard and the Strangefire sound was born. They opened S&M Studios in Ft. Worth Tx. in 2004 and recorded non-stop for 6 mo. After recording over 100 demos they chose the best and released Fan The Flames to rave reviews locally. Another 50 or so demos and they were ready for the release of Zipper Confetti. They disbanded in 2008 and are both persuing other projects. Mike is with decaying orbit and Tak can be found here under the new band name Strangephyre.
