Paul Foxton is a solo singer/songwriter. Writing from the heart and exposing his inner feelings he released the acclaimed album in 2004 called Exposed Soul. Comprising of 12 tracks and a secret 13th one, he is now concentrating on releasing a 2nd album and touring the first. A pop/rock artist fuelled by dreams and dedication, Paul is eager to keep writing, singing and entertaining the world through his music.
Why this name?
It's my name so I'm being dead unoriginal. Sorry guys! ;-)
Do you play live?
I have played live around the North East, I am currently rehearsing to take my new album on tour this summer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's a revolution and is a great medium for new band exposure.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I am currently looking for a record contract and would definitely sign a contract with a major label!
Band History:
Originally in a band called Inspiration in 1996, Paul revamped the band with the incorporation of Venus In Furs bassist Ryan Boyd and formed Urban Reality. Urban Reality wrote prolifically but release only one single - Make ConneXions for the ConneXions initiative which was a limited run of 500 cds. It sold out in 7 days. UR did perform live once at a charity gig and raised £500 for the British Heart Foundation in conjunction with German band East West '99. After UR split in 2003, Paul pursued his solo career (with a brief stint in a band called MakeShift) and has recorded his first album as well as a single which UR split before they could finish. Paul is working on his second album as we speak.
Your influences?
Savage Garden, Roxette, Beatles, Billy Joel. I'm also fond of Queen, Meat Loaf and any catchy tunes. I'm a pop/rock sort, so you'll find plenty of these influences effecting my music.
Favorite spot?
Manhattan or Dublin
Equipment used:
Erm, have used an Alesis SR-16 in the past, but I'm quite fond of my cordless SM58. It's lovely!
