The Enders
NEWS   Oct 14: Still lining up shows, recording plans set for late Oct/early Nov at Apollo.
Oct 17th: LokelYokel show at Kennesaw State University on February 16th, 2005

Oct 18th: The possibility of yet another name change has reared it's ugly head. No shows have been cancelled, but the site may change in a few weeks so I'll post a link if it does.

Oct 19th: Added lyrics to 2 songs

Oct 30th: Added new song! 'Twas recorded solely by me as an entry into a songwriting competition, but we'll probably record a full band version soon. Also, recording plans have been bumped up to mid-November and they likely won't be at Apollo due to financial issues.

Nov 1: Ah, the thrills of a brand new month! Election day is tomorrow, so everyone (even you Bushites) get your asses out and vote! We've got a new show at Swayzes on Friday, Nov 26th too.

Nov 2: You can't complain if you don't VOTE! Also, check out our Stations Playing to discover TC Radio! It's got some great sh*** on it, including the best new band in England, Fay Wray!

Nov 2: UPDATE: Name change complete, we are now The Enders! Welcome to the new site; I'll leave the news for the past month up so nobody misses a beat.

Nov 11: Apollo recording plans scrapped, attempting to book recording dates with Arsis Music Studios in Alpharetta. Also starting to book dates in Alabama and Louisiana so if anybody has any hook ups let us know on the messageboard.

Nov 14: Recording session at Arsis Music Productions booked for December 18th; added 2 new dates, one at The Vineyard and one mysteriously named "Jarquinpalooza" (more info soon). Peace!

Dec 2: Checked out Arsis Music yesterday with our manager and it is f***ing sweet. I'm so excited about all the good sh*** we'll have for you guys in the next month or so. Keep on!

Dec 11: The main website is probably gonna be up in a couple weeks, and we're entering a massive 48 band competition hosted by www.lucideyeproductons.com. Wish us luck on April 30th!

Dec 16: As we prepare to hit the studio, some old classics are undergoing some serious rewrites. Many songs will feature background vocals by yours truly, though surely mixed very quietly. One song will probably feature entirely different lyrics. Also, Mikhail St. Denis, an artist from Montreal, has been asked to whip up some cover art for the EP. Big plans coming up, people!

Dec 19: The Enders' Into Nothing EP has reached the finalizing stages. We still have to complete the artwork, touch up the mixes and master it before we send it off to the plant, but the point is that the music is layed down! I've posted all the rough mixes just because you've all been so patient. Enjoy! The fun will really start to happen in the next month or so.

Jan 11: The EP has been mastered and the mp3s now on the site are the final versions in the order they appear on the CD (with the exception of "The Entmore"). All we have left now is the artwork, the legal junk like copyrights and the printing.

Jan 20: Well...some pretty bad sh*** just took place today so there'll probably end up being a delay with the album. Sorry, but I can't say too much right now.

Feb 14: Well, I can't wait any longer so I'll just come right out and say it: Brian Diehl, our friend and foundation, has left the fold. We're already auditioning a couple new bassists, so we're not completely hard up. Brian has also agreed to play one last show with us on February 16th so if you want to say goodbye to the 4th Ender, hit the joint up. Hope to bring forth good news soon on the 6th Ender, maybe as soon as this Saturday. Peace.

Feb 27: For all intents and purposes, Kyle Schufrieder is now our bassist. I'll have a member page up soonish for those interested. Right now he's still learning the songs, but he's getting them down at a breakneck pace and it shouldn't be too long till we're up and running again at full speed. We're already tossing together ideas for the next record, with VERY tentative plans to record in Sept/Oct of this year. Whatever we decide, the new stuff will be a fairly drastic departure from the first EP. Thanks for stickin' with us.

April 1: Our show at Ga Tech (formerly at the Masquerade) on the 30th is coming up, w00t. Sorry it's been a while, but I figure no one actually reads this sh*** so what the f*** ever. Our new bassist is working out well, though this Battle of the Bands competition will be our first show with him. Things are extremely slow nowadays, sorry. But you can be sure things are moving slowly for a damned good reason, and when we pick up again we'll be better than ever. Peace.

May 16: Welcome back! Interesting news today. First off, we're selling the EP finally. Just contact us through gamoreah@yahoo.com for a mailing address. Secondly, we've got a show coming up on July 10th with an awesome band from Cali called LAO. Thirdly, we're chatting with a local label about a distribution deal so you might just find a little white sticker on the EP after all. Fourthly, we're introducing a new bass player in August when Kyle has personal business to attend to. The bio says we're always in transition, and it wasn't kidding.

July 22: Some quick announcements, just as soon as I finish watching this dustball go by. There it goes. Anyways, we're headed into a friend's studio to whip up some demos for our very tentative long player debut FINALLY. Except some intense shit, 'cause we've got lots of frustration to get out. The show with LAO went swimmingly, though we're taking a break from playing live in order to craft some new material for all y'all. Storming back in the fall with some cool shit, I promise. Peace.

Welcome! The Enders are a band open to anyone and everyone who loves music. We'll always have free mp3s and consider our fans the most driving and inspiring thing about playing in a f***in' rock band. We try to do our own thing the best way we can, and we love you all for digging it as much as you do. There's nothing more exciting than a room full of independent thinkers, excitement in the air.

Also, thanks to Mikhail St.Denis of Montreal, Canada for his brilliant artwork.
Why this name?
We seem to always be near the end of one thing and the start of another. The world moves in waves, and sometimes all you can do is hang on for the ride. But if you're ever just plain sick of everything going on around you, there is always a way to end your current situation and start over again. Recently we've experienced a rebirth. Considering we're near the beginning of our career, we expect numerous rebirths and improvements yet to come.
Do you play live?
We play live as often as our schedules will allow. You'll see us a lot more around Atlanta, Athens, and other places around Georgia. It may sound egotistical, but we're gonna try and make a scene worth saving.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Ah, the cliche topic. The Internet (and specifically the mp3) has truly revolutionized the independent scene, and thusly has affected the major music corporations. Music "industry" is something to worry about if certain processes don't change. Mp3s put the power back into the people's hands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
All that being said, yes we would. But it would be a truly shared contract, with equal pay to both artist and supporting company. We're not in this for the big money.
Band History:
Originally formed in the winter of 2001, The Enders are composed mainly of two marching band geeks, one workaholic and a manic depressive gorrilla. Together they slap together loud rock music with pure strains of originality. These boys are in it for the long haul.
Each band member has unique and disparate musical tastes. Potash is influenced by Dream Theater, NIN and Incubus; Williams by Children of Bodom and The Temptations; Dietrich by The Smashing Pumpkins and Our Lady Peace; Schufrieder by RHCP and Miles Davis. Though often at the centre of heated and sometimes violent debates, these ranging stylistic differences also provide the artistic glue for The Enders' loud, thumping folk metal music.
The Enders have played many shows in the greater Atlanta area to mild acclaim. Their live show is renowned on the high school party circuit, and the band is quickly solidifying a formidable onstage presence. They are currently preparing a spring tour of the Southeast and a debut EP to be released independently in February 2005.
"Frankly, there’s nothing more that I want to do with my life than play music," says guitarist/singer Kienan Dietrich, "and to share that music with everybody I can."
"This is my dream," confirms singer/guitarist Andy Potash.
Now that the band is enrolled in their own separate universities, they look forward to forging their own niche in today’s hard rock environment. The Enders feel they are ready to head out into the music wilderness and try their hand at becoming one of North America’s great new bands.
