Oiva Väre is a finnish pop/rock band from town of Oulu in northern Finland. Band has been around since autumn 2001.
Why this name?
It's too long story to tell and the joke doesn't translate too well so let's just say Oiva Väre is a mans name and it also means good vibration in english.
Do you play live?
Usually we play live in our home town and near it. We are always trying to get gigs further. Festivals are fun to play at.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure but it depends of the contract of course. That kind of scenario is quite doubtful because we are not exactly mainstream right now.
Band History:
Oiva Väre has released four demo records:

Demo I including 6 songs in 2002
Demo II including 5 songs in 2003
Demo III including 4 songs in 2005
Demo IV including 3 songs in 2006 (only in web)
Your influences?
Sounds and the atmosphere of 70's progressive and rock music. We don't care about genres. We just make that kind of music that we would like to listen.

Some artist or bands that are above others: Neil Young, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, The Police, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep etc...
Favorite spot?
45 Special the only decent rock club in our town.
Equipment used:
We use Gibson, Fender and Tokai guitars, Fender, Crate and Ampeg amps, Premier and Ludwig drums and Istanbul and Zildjian cymbals.
