Do you play live?
-I don't, but my homies; 2mental & NOBULL do shows. I just produce. My special moments are when I hit #1 on both the Jazz and Smooth Jazz Charts on Soundclick at THE SAME time November 15th, 2005 with the song, "Majestic Son". Another moment was when the song, "Dear Momz ft. 2mental & Jewelz", entered CASHBOX

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
-You reach a worldwide audience for alot less than hand promo or word of mouth. You can reach an audience of millions with just one song and a click of the keyboard or mouse...The internet IS the future for artists, indie and major alike. The major labels are starting to find that out now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
- Block Scholar Entertainment/Slimdog Productions just signed a deal with Cashbox Records Inc., a brand new major label that the world will be hearing about soon. Our goal is to help get Colorado on the map music wise. I believe it is an untapped market with unlimited potential.
Band History:
Just started doin my thang in 2004 and I am getting better...I kind of see myself as a vacuum for musical styles and sounds. I'm just trying to take it all in...
Your influences?
-All kinds...Mostly R&B, Hip Hop and Jazz. Groups and people like: The Deele, Guy, Mint Condition, Ready For The World, Mtume, SOS Band, Cameo, Parliament-Funkadelic, The Temptations, Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Dazz Band, ConFunkshun, Ohio Players, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, A Tribe Called Quest, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Special Ed, Slick Rick, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock, Loose Ends, Robert Plant, The Police, Boston, Van Halen...You get tha' picture. I love the samples that people like to put on beats, but if your song becomes HOT, and someone famous wants to use it, then you have to go through the red tape to get the sample released. I like doing original mostly because I don't have to worry about that. That is ONE less step to really getting your ish out there...
Favorite spot?
-I like many places: Paris, London, Japan, Mexico, South America...To travel the world is my REAL job...for now. LOL
Equipment used:
-My creativity, Fruity Loops 6, E-jay Hip Hop 5 (don't laugh, I make that program WORK to its potential), Steinberg programs (which one you ask?) and a Fantom Xa Keyboard.
Anything else...?
-THANK YOU FOR THA' LOVE AND SUPPORT...OF COURSE, I'm always going for the #1, but I rather have 20 or 30 top 10's than just that 1 #1...Don't wanna be one of those "one hit wonders". CONSISTENCY is the name of the game. Keep striving to be that number 1...
