COH was formed in 1987 as Carcass On The Highway by Rev. Chad A. Wells (The Jackalopes, WULFKULT, Gorfukt, LEAF). Wells disbanded the group in 1998 to form The Jackalopes. COH was initially a lo-fi, experimental project and songs ranged from Neo-Folk to Electronic, Punk to Power Metal. The band spent their last years playing what Wells described as "Ugly Sludge Punk" or "Murder Rock".
Why this name?
The name was taken from a local news report about dead animals littering area highways.
Do you play live?
The band played live for many years and opened for many national acts.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives it back to the listener where it belongs!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably, but on my terms... I spent many years dealing with the "business" of music in The Jackalopes and I'd rather create art than do math and worry about trust issues!
Your influences?
Dead Milkmen, WASP, KISS, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, Zappa, Elvis Hitler, Motley Crue, Ween, Faith No More, Electric Ferrets, Yoko Ono, Melvins, Burzum, Skinny Puppy
