Members from 'Austin Awakening', 'Death Before Disco' and 'Morbid School Mascot' join together in this mathcore supergroup. Influenced by the genres greatest such as Botch and Burnt By The Sun, the band has managed to create it's very own sound.
Why this name?
We were having a small cigarette break from jamming and our vocalist asked a question about something we had just been talking about for the last few minutes. So Fab came up with 'someone wasn't listening'....and eventually we realized how perfectly bizarre that name was for a hardcore band.
Do you play live?
At the moment the band is on hiatus live due to exams.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
As SWL, and the other projects of its members are underground bands, the spread of mp3s through the internet is essential in spreading the music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
At the moment all of the members are yet to make up their minds what to fully commit themselves to. There's no doubt that the potential is there.
However, deals with labels such as Trustkill and Relapse would be welcome.....

Band History:
Drummer Fabian Blau and Guitarist Miika Virtanen discovered their songwriting chemistry early on and decided to set up a band called 'Death Before Disco'. They soon recruited experienced NYC underground vocalist Chris Abitbol. The band took a break over the summer during which Blau and Abitbol went on to set join the Converge influenced mathcore band 'Austin Awakening'. The band quit after the departure of basically every member to different locations (university, job). Meanwhile, Abitbol and Virtanen decided to set up a new band called 'Morbid School Mascot', an experimental crossover band. They soon recruited guitarist Daniel Malsch. Just as the band was getting into the recording stage, Blau returned from Germany and the four set up Someone Wasn't Listening.
The band recently finished the recording of their debut demo, and are looking forward to spread the music.
