Why this name?
Anastasia stayed with her real name, like many other artists, although the issue of changing her last name came up quiet a few times. Possibilities included Anastasia Fil, Anastasia Philippe, but Anastasia said: "I cannot yet accept any of those - it would feel too strange."
Do you play live?
Anastasia plays live very frequently around Canada's Capital City - Ottawa. She has recently been broadcasted on Canada's National Television Show "Good Morning Canada"

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Internet distributes music much more effectively, bringing upon itself advantages and disadvantages. While artists gotta eat, artists need promotion as well. I see the internet as a very positive music promotional tool, if you take advantages of all its posibilities - look at SoundClick for example. It's great - quiet amazing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
"Depends on what I am offered. I believe I can have great success with and without. If a major label wants to help me, I'm willing to help back. I'd love to work with a Major label only in a situation where the label would have my interests in place, where we would equally benefit from the partnership."
Band History:
Anastasia's biggest dream is to succeed in the music industry, which includes writing great songs that will leave a mark on many lives, beat a major artist's CD sales and positively change many people's lives.

When Anastasia came from Russia in September of 1998, her life changed dramatically. Leaving life-long friends at 12 years old was heartbreaking, at the same time teaching Anastasia a great lesson about friendships, and gifting her with yet another song called "Living in the Memory" that will appear on Anastasia's album in the spring of 2007.
Your influences?
Alicia Keys, Brian McKnight, Russian music, Brian Adams, Aerosmith, Pachelbel, Bojya Korovka, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, all kinds of classical music and of coarse many and many more others. "I adore music, and am inspired and influenced by many different things, music included, I really don't even know directly what I am influenced by. I just listen to artists I enjoy listening to."
Favorite spot?
"Russia and Canada so far are the greatest places on Earth, since that is where I so far been to! I really enjoyed my stay in Toronto and Montreal. Both visits were different, yet very inpsiring. I would love to go to an island surrounded by fresh fruit, clean water and a portable CD player. I also heard many travel stories, so I'm very excited to do some travelling some day."

Anastasia's song Underneath:

"There's people in the world who you haven't met yet,
So love yourself for future's sake,
Dry all the tears off of your poor wet pillow..."
