Mike D Smith - (the D is important) - is a pop rock songwriter of original and emotional music. The aim of the music is to provoke thought and feeling. To capture mood. To envoke emotions.
I write for other artists mainly, but this is the ME page. Listen and (hopefully) enjoy. Comments / critique much appreciated

Why this name?
Ask my parents. I also write under the name Pyramid, which is a variable collective of musicians and other people who are involved as and when needed
Do you play live?
I sporadically do stand up gigs with me+ acoustic in Sutton Coldfield UK - O Neils bar
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
No one pays for anything any more!!
I know alot of people who used to make a good living are now not, but thats the businesses fault for not reacting to change quickly enough

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably, but not on the back of a porsche at 11.00pm
Band History:
co-founded Carnival Earth - my most noteable band. Gigs to 3000, cd's then......... nothing hehe!!
Pyramid collective approach after that in 97 as I hated the whole band thing - now I miss it!
Now writing for a promising act in Italy

Favorite spot?
30m underwater on the wreck of the Hispania in the sound of Mull, Scotland. Or above water - that view is better than anything we ever built

Anything else...?
I am a realist - Fame is not my goal. Making the best music I can is
