Emerging onto the internet music scene in the mid 1990's Jasper Mills just wanted to display the music they'd written and performed over the many years of playing professionally and jammin Gutty Soulful Blues,Classic Rock and Guitar Jazz.Instrumentals and Vocals as well as Net collaborations with some the worlds best. The group has embraced the internets vast offerings to display their music. Since mid 1995 They have been recording and posting high quality original blues, rock and jazz works for free listening and downloading. They now boast five very popular CD's on site. Jasper Mill's frontman, John Cohmer ,is a hard and gutsy player with his own styling and sound. He perfers to play the blues in adjacent styles such as Jazz,Rock and Country just as much as in the traditional form. Keeping the sound fresh and finding the passion in each and every song they play is the motivation behind their music. The Music on this site represents recordings both by the band as well as many, many collaborations with other great blues, rock and jazz artists worldwide... Some of these are Matt Thorpe (Sweet UK Guitar Man),Patti Sterling (First Lady of Internet Blues in our book),Micheal Brose (Bass man, Jazz Guitar), Filippo Bertacche (Italy's premier Jazz drummer), Bob Johnson (Canadian Sax Blower..& Funkdawg brother), Kyle Whitlock (Solid Keyboard Man), Bill Lawerence (Another NY Bass man..cool and funky),John Edmunds (Essex Blues Band from UK ..vocals and guitar work), Tosh yates (UK Vocal crooner), Dave Edwards (Soulful, passionate UK blues singer) and many many others...and there will be many many more.
Bottleneck Style Blues Guitar
John Cohmer says ain't nothin' in the world that say's blues like a Dobro tuned to open "E" and a Coricedin pill bottle on the finger slidin' up to the 12th fret and wigglin' like a baby cryin'.............
You'll find a whole slew of songs that feature John Cohmer playing bottleneck style guitar. This is a freedom away from the normal chords and notes and avails to him a route to display his passion. It's our hopes you enjoy all the tunes on site.

Also, please check out the The Blues Allstars Nashville Sessions site here on Soundclick. Jasper Mill's front man John Cohmer goes to Nashville and joins up with Kevin "Stik Paul, Matt Thorpe,Paul Cummins,Scott Durflinger,Ironman Mike Curtis,Bill House,Larry Megill,Bob Huston,Doc "Mistabluesman" Quinn & TJ Gerencser for a four day Jam Session at Kitty Well's Junction Records Studio. And what a jam session there was. From the first evening when Matt Thorpe jumped up on stage at the Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar at Printers Ally with Stacey Mitchardt and the Blues U Can Use Band and blew away the whole house with his British Brand of soulful blues guitar work. Then, Ironman Mike Curtis, the one man band, keeping everyone in stitches and quite literally making the sessions work with the material he brought along as well as playing Blues Harp beautifully, bass and bass pedals, guitar and vocals on three of the songs. The arrival of one of Chicago's best bluesmen, Kevin "Stik" Paul, flying in late Saturday afternoon after sharing the bill the evening before with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and laying down some mean guitar immediately.Bill Houses hypnotic "Storms A Comin" unraveled before our very eyes as an idea that just came to him after hearing the daily weather report. Scott Durflingers true found moment of blues when he takes a solo plugged into his WAH WAH and messmerizes everyone and his introduction of "Lord I Love My Smoke", a charmin' lil country blues with everything but the corn squeezin's. Doc Quinn's introduction of his tune "Freddies Blues" which will become a classic. Bob Huston's "Blues Walked Through" with it's southern rockin' feel. And so much more...... You can hear the whole session here at Soundclick.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH
IT'S APPRECIATED!!!!!!
Why this name?
There's a small town in SW Ohio just on the western edge of Fayette County named Jasper Mills. This town is so small it's a bridge only. The corporation signs are literally on each end of the bridge itself which crosses a small creek. There isn't even a gas station, stop sign or street light.
Do you play live?
We play "Live" when we can around the tri-state area. We love to play it right off the cuff. That's how it should be. Recording is fun and keeps a record for a long time but "live" performance has magic or "MOJO". The most memorable moments are "the Nashville Sessions"...meeting and jamming with "HoundDog Taylor" and spending an evening talking with Robert Lockwood. Making friends with Willie Pooch and Dave Workman and any jam session ever attended.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Independent artists had no true outlet to present their music at all. And getting signed to a label was worse than selling your soul. The internet has changed everything and will continue to change all media delivery. The listeners need to realize the gold mine there is available at these indie sites. Most have FREE music available. And it's first rate stuff. I still don't know why people allow the small group of labels dictate to them what we will listen to and what talent will make it while the rest starve to death. Support indie music. Listen, download and buy their CD's.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Certainly...but we don't care about the fame or fortune bit and it would be entirely on our terms and not a labels. That's a promise made forever. Don't need the friggin' hassels.

DJ DAWG DHNR Net Radio Live365 Review 12/2000
Jasper Mills is undoubtably one of the finest people that I have met being associated on MP3.COM. Jasper has a true heart and it can be felt when listening to his music. I strongly recommend picking up at least one of his CD's. In todays day and age of musicians battling it out to be on top of the charts Jasper knows that's not the most important thing to fullfill his visions. Many artists on MP3.COM would run over anyone who stands in there way to get to the top and believe me I have met quite a few. Jasper is a true friend a fine spirit. I am going to make a point of meeting up with him one day soon when my summer concert tour is to be announced. Give Jasper a serious listen its blues form the heart !

Jasper.... I have just been listening to Roy's Blues and I have to say this is outstanding work. This has to be one of the best things I've heard you play. Is this a turning point in you're playing ? You were always saying that its coming back day by day week by week but this was so fluid like you had found something you had missed before, maybe an extra finger !!!.

"Roy's Blues" Crying blues from the heart of my friend Jasper Mills and from vibrant chords of his guitar! Have a nice listen! Also.."Even The Score Blues" another "live" collaboration between me and Jasper, born from a blues drums pattern and developed by Jasper with his lovely guitar and his unexpected warm voice!!My sincere compliments to you Jasper!!!And.."The Loney Beat Of My Heart"...This is really passionate blues with warmly leading guitar by Jasper Mills, author of this beautiful blues ballad. He asked me to record a slowly drums pattern, trying to imagine his music paint project. So I sat down on my drums set and started to grooving on... Between us... only an ocean! We started to work on Jasper's projects by Internet, me in Italy (Vicenza) and Jasper in Ohio, United States.
FILIPPO BERTACCHE MP3 JAZZ INDIE ARTIST
"Clean Green Dirty Money Blues" Another catchy slow blues number from Aardvark. The chord pattern was really sweet in this one, I mean really nice. THe tasteful harp playing which is par for the course on this page, added a lot to this song and I really like the guitar solo. No showboating but, drove the point home just the same. The opening lines of the solo were particularly ear pleasing.

Jazz Genre Review...and Featured Song 8/2/2001 Sagebrush Signs & Tumbleweed Tears The overall mood and feel of this tune is beautiful. It was very Clapton-esque. While it seemed to lack a definitive melody, the chordal progession was sweet and it moves effortlessly through it's changes. The use of the slide dobro was excellent and the piano interplay was also very nice. Good production, there's a lot going on and you can hear it all. Good film underscore material - sets a definite mood.
